Whether you’re driving for business or leisure, it’s not uncommon to be on the road when the urge for a snack hits. At this point, we often find ourselves looking for a billboard, a blue sign sprinkled with logos, or a high-rise set of golden arches glowing in the distance. Without fail, we’ll often end up at a rest stop sliding crinkled bills into a vending machine, hoping that we pressed the right buttons and our tasty treat doesn’t get stuck in between the glass and a metal corkscrew.
Well, Certified Oil is here to tell you that just because you need to get some food fast doesn’t mean you have to eat fast food or stale chips from the vending machine. Making healthy decisions when hunger hits is easier today than ever.
Our newest and largest travel center, features many healthy options to snack on when traveling. Whether you’re looking for greek yogurt, hummus, guacamole, or hard-boiled eggs, we have it for you!
Need to grab something for lunch? Pair a bag of baked chips with one of Subway’s 8 Fresh Fit six-inch sub choices. Featuring 2 servings of veggies and 24 grams of whole grains for less than 400 calories makes any one of these subs a great option for anyone looking for a healthy option on the go!
Occasionally a snack won’t do it alone and an ice-cold refreshment is what you really need. Steering clear of sugar filled drinks can be difficult when stopping at a travel center. When hunting for something with less sugar, naturally, the first thought is to check out the different options of bottled water. After all, you’ve got to have something to wash down that Fresh Fit sub you just ordered! But what if you’re in the mood for a little flavor in your drink? Flavored waters or sparkling waters are available, but have you thought about fruit and vegetable juices? Lower in sugar than carbonated soda while also providing some dietary benefits, these juices can be a great option for when you’re looking for a drink option that is on the healthier side.
